Maintaining Your Heating and Air Conditioning Units

Hello. My name is Max. My wife and I have five children who all live at with us in our large two-story house. My wife and two of our kids suffer from severe allergies which means keeping our home as dust-free as possible. I have learned that it’s crucial to keep our heating and air conditioning units properly maintained at all times. We have a fantastic HVAC company that comes out two times a year to perform routine maintenance on our system. They have taught me what I can do on a monthly basis in order to not only help with my family’s health but also keep our system running efficiently. I would like to share some of the tips I’ve been given. I hope you find this to be useful!

How To Make Sure Your Commercial AC System Works Well

Kristin Pierce

If you own or rent from a commercial property, it's your responsibility to ensure that everything is working as well as possible, including your AC system. To make sure that you and your tenants stay comfortable all summer long and don't feel like you're sweating too much, there are a few things you can do for your AC system. But what exactly? This article will take a closer look. Read on to learn some more.

Change Your Filters

The easiest thing you can do for your AC or HVAC system is to change out the air filters in your HVAC unit. Your air filters are responsible for filtering out all of the particles from the air so that your HVAC system doesn't get too dirty during the intake process. For instance, your HVAC system will pull in air from outside, run it through the system, and then deliver it throughout your air vents so that you feel cooler. As it pulls in the air, it will run it through a filter to get rid of as much dirt and as many particles as possible. To make sure that your air is always clean and cold, make sure that you change out your air filter every couple of months.

The easy thing about air filters is that they are really easy to install. All you will usually need to do is open your HVAC system, take out the old air filter, and then insert a new air filter. The only thing to notice is what kind of air filter your HVAC system uses because you don't want to use one that's not for your specific unit.

Have It Tuned Up

Another thing you will want to do is contact a commercial AC services company to come out and give your entire system a tune-up. If you haven't had this done for a while, then you will definitely want to make it a priority. During the tune up, the company representatives will inspect all of the coils on your AC, check the fluids, and make sure everything else is intact. If anything is broken, they will also fix it for you. The best part about having your AC unit tuned up is that it will usually save you money on energy costs later on down the line.

As you can see, there are just a few basic things that you can do to your unit to keep it running well. For more information, contact companies like Dependable Heating & Cooling.
